Is March over yet…? It has been a trying time for everyone, and we are here to help.

“Work full-time, don’t work at all, stay home with your kids, teach your kids, don’t forget to feed them, pick up their school work, stay in touch with your friends and family, feed the dog, exercise, eat right, don’t get sick, clean the house”, the list goes on and on.

Anyone else overwhelmed yet?

“Take a deep breath. No matter how hard things seem right now, you can and will get through this.” – Lori Deschene

Let’s start by taking a few deep breaths. I like these “Lazy-8” breaths from the Zones of Regulation, by Leah Kuypers.

...and Breathe 1

Deep breathing is one of the best ways we can lower stress in our bodies. This is because when you breathe deeply, it sends a message to your brain to calm down and relax. The brain then sends this message to your body. … Breathing exercises are a good way to relax, reduce tension, and relieve stress. Which I know many of us are experiencing right now!

Remember to model this for your children. When they see mom, dad, siblings, and caregivers taking care of themselves they will want to join in.
